I can’t even define the genre. Seven musicians from different worlds coming together to see what happens. All under the tagline: refuse compliance.

MOD's open-minded and fearless backer, Giacomo Bruzzo, hired me to make an art film about them. That’s what he said: art film. SOUNDCHECK is what I came up with. (Special thanks to dr. Israel and Seth Cohen, for producing this with us.)

The band wasn't sure about me in the beginning, so I didn’t have great access. I also didn’t want to make a concert film. So I started shooting their soundchecks, basically their rehearsals, where they test levels, throw out riffs and explore.

Then, channeling the band’s energy, I took visual artists from different genres, gave them footage from the soundcheck and pieced it all together into something that speaks, in its own language, to the music. It’s 23 minutes long, and it’s a trip.
